Ramanujacharya Jayanti: Sage Ramanuja, a great Vaishnava, who played a pivotal role spearheading Hinduism and Vedas, was born on this earth as a guiding light for the distracted individuals to enlightenment them.

The chance of someone like Ramanuja coming on earth is seen as a miraculous occurrence, or perhaps it isattributed to rigorous meditations done by sages, or the divine mercy. When someone like him appears on this earth, it bears a message of holistic welfare for the people, society, and country. Otherwise, people often waste their time harbouring envy and hatred for one another and get lost in the wilderness of this temporal world due to the absence of a guiding light like Ramanuja.

Ramanujacharya was born in the year 1017, in the village of Sriperumbudur situated in Tamil Nadu. He was a very prodigious child filled with unique thoughts and devotions for gods. He learned from his teacher, Guru Prakash Yadav the Vedic education. He was one of the most brilliant students of the holy sage, Yamunacharya. He peddled the messages of Vedas and religions dutifully by the order of his teacher. He dedicated most of his life to preaching religion, doing welfare works for the people, and devoting himself to the gods. By the order of his teacher, he also wrote texts, such as the Brahma Sutras, Vishnu Sahasranama, and Divya Prabandhanam. He went through ordination for becoming a hermit at Yatiraj of Srirangam. He spent most of his life at Shalgram, where he also promoted Vaishnava Dharma for twelve years, apart from other parts of the country.

Among many of his disciples, Ramananda was one of them, whose student was none other than the famous, Kabir and Surdas Ji. Ramanujacharya created Vishisht Advaitvad based on Vedanta philosophy. He passed away in the year 1137. Ramanujacharya Jayanti: Celebrating the birth of a spiritual luminary.

He was a leading personality in disseminating the message of Hinduism. He was a Vaishnava sage, who was intrigued by exercising devotions to gods. He was the recipient of many accolades and prizes. He was a chief individual in peddling Dvait and Advait philosophies. Chief among his ideologies were the Pancharatra custom of South and Godward, apart from Vedanta philosophy. He considered Brahma as God, Chit(consciousness) as Atma tattva, and Achit(unconsciousness) as Nature’s element. He believed that everything was God-given.

He said that achieving divinity is not possible without knowing Brahma, just as a leaf of lotus can’t hold droplets of water but it can’t survive without the same. According to him, all such worldly affairs were nothing but a means to achieve divinity. This way, Shri Ramanujacharya presented many logical details that were proved useful and edifying for people. Teachings of a great personality like Ramanuja are golden nuggets for the aimless people today. If someone emulates devotional passion from Ramanuja is fated to be a leading personality someday.
