Indian Vedic Astrology: A Brief Introduction
The usage of astrological and astronomical calculations in India can be traced back to the Vedic era. Vedic seers, however, made it more useful by adopting the calculation of time-based on the movements of Sun and the Moon. These calculations were implied towards deciding auspicious times for Vedic sacrifices, celebrating festivals and for the arrangements related to the agriculture.
